Lot Title: 1913 Type 2 PCGS PR-67 CACCAC
Lot Number: 652
Description: Savoy Letter Collection. 58 graded PF-67, 11 higher at PCGS. Without hesitation, this visually astounding proof nickel dives right into the Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award population of exceptional coins. Although arctic-blue and lavender tones compete for most of the obverse real estate, an incredibly attractive arc of brilliant, shining rainbow tone sweeps up, left and over the top of the Indian's portrait, completing the encirclement with shimmering chartreuse iridescence. On the reverse, slightly more tepid yet still extremely attractive circumferential hues incorporate chartreuse, jade-indigo and wintergreen colors to create an artistic presence that must be seen to be truly appreciated -- mere two-dimensional photos cannot do justice! And technically, the production quality is just absolutely marvelous, relying upon 100% fully delineated proof details and the kind of pristine surface texture that can only result from impeccable care and handling. A true visual treat, and one of the finest collectibles in today's sale.
