Description: VAM-3A has a tiny dash beneath the second "8" and shows modestly slanted CCs with filled loops on the reverse. In this die state "A", evidence of die clashing shows on both sides, exactly as illustrated in the VAM reference. While not exceedingly sharp in terms of strike, excellent detailing suffers only the modest softening due to pre-striking striations over the ear, yet the eagle's breast feathers are finely sculpted. A blazing, attractive alabaster-white dollar.
