Given the abundance of needle sharpness and simply scrumptious frosty gold luster, it's tough to imagine a finer type example at the gem level for the inaugural date of the gold dollar series. Virtually perfect detail erupts from the placid fields, displaying every single obverse star at a consistent, high relief level that includes completion right down to the points. The closest thing to a distraction that coin be found might be utterly trivial luster grazes here and there, but nothing on either side warrants complaint by even the fussiest collector.
