One each of the 1952-D and 1953-D "rolls" consists of examples that are frosty and vibrant, with the majority of the coins included in the remaining six "rolls" reflecting a more subdued creamy appearance; and many of them show splotchy, murky hues. Careful conservation would likely improve the visual appeal of the pieces with less-than-attractive toning (Scotia described).
