Description: Superb dove-grey patina immediately proclaims the wonderful, original quality. Obviously esteemed as the hands-down key at any grade, 1916-D becomes particularly elusive at any level above the usually-seen AG to Good example, and is practically never seen at VF. One solitary little tick placed just in front of the leading edge of the foreground wing appears to be the only possible deterrent to perfection at the VF-25 grade level. The vertical lines in the fasces of the reverse are absolutely complete, which might typically place the grade slightly higher, but that only makes the quality all the more appealing for the Mercury dime collector.
