Description: Parallel Alpha Collection. Greece-Thrace, Istros. AR diabol. Obv: two male heads facing, inverted from each other. Rev: sea eagle on dolphin's back, attacking with beak, monogram beneath dolphin. The Milesian colony of Istros saw a considerable output of silver coinage within the 4th century, suggesting a position of some commercial importance. A smooth, grey example with a handsomely centered obverse, probably extremely-fine or very close.
