Description: VAM-3 has a distinctive die scratch in front of the eye, but evidently in this die-state, the reverse has been polished such that the CC mintmark is clear of the internal "junk" seen in earlier die-states. The repolishing of the dies creates very flashy luster, and even slightly semi-prooflike character on the reverse. Peripheral areas off to the right of each side offer a flash of color, and the detail has been exceptionally well compared to the typical 1885-CC.
