Description: Mintage: 55,680. Avid collectors of the series know that the value of 1911-D jumps briskly at the next grade level. Unabashedly nice in terms of surface texture and preservation for only MS-62, a very faint patch of roll friction appears to be all that prevents PCGS from making an upgrade. The Indian's cheek, and the eagle's shoulder, for example, show a touch of shift in texture compared to the surrounding, finely matte fields. PCGS notes a "strong D" on the reverse, and this is absolutely true, as Denver's mintmark can be promptly seen without a loupe.
