Description: Many American collectors of British and related pieces today do not realize that Queen Victoria was conferred the additional title of Empress of India in 1876. In one of the more unusual numismatic accomplishments, an actual diamond is set in the obverse design for the Sierra Leone $250 gold coin, calling to mind the diamond jubilee for Victoria's 60th year as Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Outrageous quality befits the supreme grade of PF-70 UCAM offered by NGC, and neither side shows even the slightest flaw except under extreme magnification.
